Scandin-Africa Summit in West Africa in Q2 - 2027

Ms. Madeleine Taylor Mendy from Scandin-Africa Group, Mr. Jørgen Gransøe from Scandin-Africa Group and Mr. Lahah, Executive Director of AON Group from Mauritania had a meeting at the Finland Chamber of Commerce on the 20th of April 2026. The main theme of the meeting was organizing the Scandin-Africa Summit – West Africa Q2 2027.
Africa is at the forefront of global climate challenges, while at the same time holding some of the world’s most significant opportunities for renewable energy generation, climate adaptation, and sustainable growth. Rapid population growth, urbanization, and rising energy demand require large-scale investment in clean energy, resilient infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, and nature-based solutions. At the same time, African countries are seeking reliable, long-term partners who bring not only capital, but also technology, governance standards, and a commitment to shared value creation.

Nordic countries bring globally recognized expertise in renewable energy, climate technology, sustainable finance, and responsible investment. Yet, despite strong political will and increasing interest from private and institutional investors, there remains a gap between ambition and implementation. Too often, dialogue does not translate into bankable projects, and promising initiatives struggle to access long-term capital.
