Tunisian Business Delegation Explored Opportunities in Helsinki
On June 3, 2025, a Tunisian business delegation led by Mr. Aslan Ben Rejeb, CEO of CONECT (Confederation of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia), visited Helsinki to explore business opportunities in Finland. The delegation met with members of the Finnish Arab Business Association to strengthen bilateral economic ties and promote cooperation.
Discussions focused on Tunisia’s ambitious goals for a green transition, including plans to generate 35% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and 50% by 2050. Clean water supply, sustainable development and education were central themes of the lively exchanges.
The delegation highlighted Tunisia’s dynamic and inclusive startup ecosystem, as well as key sectors for investment such as tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, healthcare and education. With direct flights between Finland and Tunisia launching in October 2025, the country also aims to attract Finnish tourists—especially golf enthusiasts—to its growing tourism sector, a major pillar of the Tunisian economy.
During the event, Mr. Aslan Ben Rejeb and Mr. Juho Romakkaniemi, CEO of the Finland Chamber of Commerce, signed a Joint Cooperation Agreement between CONECT and the Finland Chamber of Commerce.
Looking ahead, the upcoming Nordic Forum in Tunisia in November 2025 will offer an excellent opportunity for Finnish and Tunisian business leaders to build new partnerships and deepen existing ones.
