Speaker Bios

LEUNG Chuen-Yan
LEUNG Chuen-Yan is a healthcare investor and Partner (Healthcare Investments) at Value Partners, a leading asset management firm in Hong Kong. He is also the co-founder of Silver Dart Capital, a healthcare-focused investment firm based in Hong Kong, and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Biotechnology Organization (HKBIO), where he plays a pivotal role in promoting biotech innovation across the region. Previously, Chuen-Yan was a private equity vice president at EQT, a top-three private equity firm globally, and Lead Scientist at Procella Therapeutics, a stem cell start-up based in Stockholm. Chuen-Yan holds a PhD in Developmental Biology and Stem Cells from the University of Cambridge and conducted postdoctoral research in stem cell biology at the Karolinska Institute.

Laura Piila leads Optomed’s Devices Business with 15 years of experience in global HealthTech. Optomed is the leading solution provider for AI-integrated handheld retinal imaging. The company operates globally in medtech, with a subsidiary in China and active sales operations in Asia for over 10 years.
