ACTIVITY
Year 2019 was the 36th activity year of the business association.
Annual meeting
The annual meeting of the business association was organized on 7.5. 2019 in Helsinki. There were 11 participants. Chairman of the annual meeting was chairman of the business association Mr. Jukka Nuortio.
After the annual meeting the association hosted a seminar on the topic: What does it take to attract talent from India? Speakers were Nisha Yadav, Helsinki Business Hub, Ilpo Järvenpää, ICT Direct, and Miska Noponen, Claned. Ulla Koivukoski moderated the event. 16 people were present.
Other events
In March 2019 the association participated in two different seminars organized mainly by Embassy of India to Finland, titled: India in a Multipolar World How India perceives its role in the changing and multipolar global order – especially in South Asia, and in the multilateral and global platforms, and India’s Basic Education – Challenges and Opportunities for Collaboration.
On 18.9.2019 we were honored to welcome Ambassador Nina Vaskunlahti as our guest speaker at a morning event. Discussions on topical economic and political issues in India were had. 12 people were present.
On 21.11.2019 the association organized an event titled: Spotlight on India’s Innovation Ecosystem, which was an official Slush side-event co-organized with the Indian Embassy in Helsinki and Start Up India. More than 70 people were in attendance, and the event included remarks by H.E. Ambassador Vani Rao of India to Finland. The event was moderated by Vice Chair Ulla Koivukoski.
On 26.11. 2019 Asian region business associations organized together a Pre-Christmas event with Finland – India Business Association taking the lead in organizing. A board member Raghunath Koduvayur hosted the event at his office, Neosmart Health, and the speakers at the event were H.E. Ambassador Benard Philip of Australia to Finland, and Mr Peter Vesterbacka. 60 people attended the event.
On 28.11.2019 the association co-organized an event to welcome the Foreign Minister of Maldives into Finland together with Asean and Iran Business Associations, Africa-network, Finland Chamber of Commerce, and Business Finland.
Other activities
Representatives of the business association have participated the India Network -meetings organized by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Economical reviews, event invitations and other useful information provided by the embassies, Team Finland organizations etc. have been distributed to the members during the activity year.
FINANCES
The activities of the business association were financed through membership fees.
In 2019 the total income of membership fees was 6. 050,00 euros. Membership fees in 2019: 200,- euros for corporate members and 50,- euros for individual members.
Deficit of the activity year was -1 387,98 euros.
MEMBERS
The business association had 32 corporate members/cooperation partners, 9 individual members and two honorary members in the end of 2019.

Auditors (toiminnantarkastajat) for the association in 2019 were Mr. Kari Kallioniemi and Mr. Pekka Rautalahti and vice auditors Ms. Jaana Pukkila and Ms. Hanna-Leena Harma.
ADMINISTRATION
The secretariat of the Finland – India Business Association is located at the Finland Chamber of Commerce. Ms Jenni Isola served as the Secretary for the association in 2019.
