MOROCCO ECONOMIC OUTLOOK

The year 2015 was economically a good year for Morocco; IMF estimated that the economic growth in the end of 2015 would be app. 5%. In the background are the successful reforms in agriculture. Unemployment (8,7 %) is in its lowest level since year 2012, but regional differences are significant: urban youth unemployment is still high (18,5 %). Morocco’s main trading partner is EU; more than half of the foreign trade is with EU countries. It is expected that in year 2016 Morocco invests especially in the infrastructure, agriculture and manufacturing (source: Finnish Embassy report 17.11.2015)
